The Seven Sisters - 60 Degrees of Inspiration Quilt is inspired by the constellation called The Pleiades. Depending on which culture you reference, the existence of these seven sister stars is explained in that culture?s star lore. I was particularly inspired to create this simple and modern design because it is the only reference in star lore that gives origin to the LGBTQ community. I chose fabrics that were representative of this community in hopes of stitching myself into the fabric of this piece. I invite participants to choose and incorporate their own fabrics so that they too can stitch themselves or people we hold dear into their quilt. Selected fabrics might be inspired by your favourite colours, clothing from family/friends, representative fabrics of things you love, etc. This is a great pattern for a memory quilt. Three methods of cutting sixty degree triangles will be demonstrated as well as tips for accurate construction. This project will result in a queen size quilt.
