Professional Tote



The Professional Tote has all the pockets and compartments needed for today’s professional woman. Whether you work in an office or not, this tote has it all.

There is a pleated pocket on each side of the tote to hold a bottle of water, umbrella, magazine, baby bottle or telephone. On the front is a zippered pocket to hold your ID and Passport for your airport travel. Behind that pocket is one for your boarding pass. On the backside is one large pocket for a newspaper. On the inside, there is a large center dividing zippered pocket that holds file folders. There is plenty of room inside for a laptop computer. Several pockets are inside for your business cards, keys, pens, PDA, and more. To finish it off, there is a zipper that will close tight to keep the contents secure. This would also work great as a sewing tote with a place for patterns or books, fabrics and notions. 
Let’s not forget about the “professional” diaper bag, with a pocket for all the babies’ needs.

This class requires the Professional Tote Pattern; if you do not own it please selection the pricing option that includes the pattern purchase.

    • Main Fabric: 1 1/8 yards
    • Contrast Fabric: 1 yard or 1 3/8 yard if making handles
    • Lining Fabric: 1 3/8 yards
    • 1" Wide Webbing for Handles (if not making fabric ones): 3 1/2 yards
    • 3/4" Magnetic Snap
    • 1 Cord Lock Set
    • 1 1/2 yards of narrow cord to fit into cord locks
    • 6" Velcro
    • 2 1/2 yards of Decor Bond
    • Thread to match all fabrics
    • Size 90/14 Sewing Machine Needle
  • Handbag Zippers:
    • 1 - 7" Zipper to match outside fabric
    • 1 - 14" Zipper to match lining fabric
    • 1 - 18" Zipper to match outside fabric
  • Optional accessories:
    • 1 - Swivel Hook
    • 1 - Set of Purse Feet
    • 4 - 1" Rectangle Rings or D-Rings for handles
Fabric and notions must be purchased separately but will be sold at 15% off at the East Coast Quilt Co. The instructor will email students material requirements in advance of the class.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY:
If you cannot attend a class and it is 7 or more days before class, you will receive a store credit for 75% of the value of the class with a 30-day expiry date. If you cancel less than 7 days before class, you will NOT receive a refund or store credit. No credit or refund will be given for a "no show" in class regardless of reason. So please ensure that you are able to attend before signing up. East Coast Quilt Co reserves the right to cancel classes/events for any reason. If this happens, you will be refunded your full class fee.

WHAT IS IN A BASIC SEWING KIT:
For most of our classes we ask you to bring a 'basic sewing kit' which usually contains: rotary cutter and/or scissors, small snipping scissors, straight pins & a pin cushion or collector, seam ripper, a spool of neutral 50 wt cotton thread, extra bobbins, notebook & pen/pencil, ruler(s), etc.).

Skill Details: Students should be confident in using a sewing machine and working with numerous pieces.
Requirements: Please bring your own sewing machine with required materials, notions, and accessories
