Handmade Style: Chambray Dress

Chambray is a soft woven fabric that is great for apparel. This dress pattern, from the book "Handmade Style" is a great way to showcase this soft, attractive fabric. Other wonderful choices are Essex linen, and Brussels Washer Linen. Students will learn how to trace and follow clothing patterns, set sleeves, and finish with bias tape!

Fabric and notions must be purchased separately but will be sold at 15% off at the East Coast Quilt Co. The instructor will email students material requirements in advance of the class.

Instructor: Lindsay Nichols
Instructor Bio: Lindsay Nichols is the owner and operator of Purple Door Designs, specializing in creating Purses, Bags, Wallets, clothing and accessories. Having grown up sitting on the floor in her mother's sewing room is how Lindsay's love of fabric and design brought a passion to life in the form of a thriving and successful home based business. What started out as sewing simple bags and wallets very quickly expanded into design and production of fashionable and sturdy accessories sold mostly via her Facebook page and Instagram account. Buying clothing for her tall skinny children became very challenging and accidentally developed into her creating "grow with me" clothing for children and subsequently adult wear. Lindsay prides herself on a primarily "ME MADE" wardrobe from inside to outside. Lindsay buys Canadian fabrics, Shops Canadian and Believes in Local.
