Bag of the Month - Series 1

In this 3-part workshop you will make 3 bags, one each month! All 3 projects are patterns by Janelle Mackey from Emmaline Bags.

Month 1 - The Day Trip Wallet -  in 2 sizes, features 2 full-length zipper pockets that form the front and back “covers” of this book-like wallet. These covers flip open to reveal a center zipper pouch with an ID Window Pocket, and 2 sections of credit card slot pockets. The small size holds 10 cards, and the large, 16.

Month 2 - The Prairie Girl  - This is a cute little shoulder bag that will fit the kitchen sink! There are 12 card slots, plus longer sections for cash and checks in the curved outer zipper pocket. Also in the outer pocket, a pen loop and a little zipper pocket for coins and other items. The main part of the bag is divided into 2 large compartments. If you are looking for a small size shoulder bag that will carry all of the essentials, this is it!

Month 3 - The Castell Day Bag is a unique bag with a beautiful, curvy shaped top. With wire frames around the opening, it opens wide to make this the perfect bag to haul all of your much needed supplies for the day. This bag functions like a carpet bag, but uses smaller, more affordable wire frames that are found in our shop. You can make the bag without the wire frames, but it will have a square top instead of a curved/domed bag top. There are 2 gathered pockets inside, perfect for holding personal items. This curvy girl holds a lot of stuff and looks good.

The class fee will include the patterns and all necessary hardware. An optional Stabilizer kit will be available for purchase as well.

We do have COVID protocol in place at the shop: we have reduced the number of seats available to ensure social distancing and request you bring a mask to wear when necessary.  The workstations and machines will be sanitized before & after each class.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY:
If you cannot attend a class and it is 7 or more days before class, you will receive a store credit for 75% of the value of the class with a 30-day expiry date. If you cancel less than 7 days before class, you will NOT receive a refund or store credit. No credit or refund will be given for a "no show" in class regardless of reason. So please ensure that you are able to attend before signing up. East Coast Quilt Co reserves the right to cancel classes/events for any reason. If this happens, you will be refunded your full class fee.

WHAT IS IN A BASIC SEWING KIT:
For most of our classes we ask you to bring a 'basic sewing kit' which usually contains: rotary cutter and/or scissors, small snipping scissors, straight pins & a pin cushion or collector, seam ripper, a spool of neutral 50 wt cotton thread, extra bobbins, notebook & pen/pencil, ruler(s), etc.).

Instructor Bio: Lindsay Nichols is the owner and operator of Purple Door Designs, specializing in creating Purses, Bags, Wallets, clothing and accessories. Having grown up sitting on the floor in her mother's sewing room is how Lindsay's love of fabric and design brought a passion to life in the form of a thriving and successful home based business. What started out as sewing simple bags and wallets very quickly expanded into design and production of fashionable and sturdy accessories sold mostly via her Facebook page and Instagram account. Buying clothing for her tall skinny children became very challenging and accidentally developed into her creating "grow with me" clothing for children and subsequently adult wear. Lindsay prides herself on a primarily "ME MADE" wardrobe from inside to outside. Lindsay buys Canadian fabrics, Shops Canadian and Believes in Local.
