This program is for those who own an embroidery machine and have not yet mastered the art of machine embroidery or who would like to learn a few more techniques with their machine.
Each week, the participant will learn a new embroidery technique that that can practice and master at home.
Week 1: The basics
let's look at your machine
basic supplies needed for embroidery
thread/needles/stabilizers/machine formats
Class project: embroidered hand towel (participants bring old hand towel)
Week 2: Embroidery on stretch fabric
focus on iron on stabilizers, stretch fabric, embroidery placement on shirts and T-shirts, hoopless embroidery
Class project: embroidery design on a T-shirt (participants to bring an old Tshirt)
Week 3: Free standing lace
focus will be on wash away stabilizers and FSL patterns
Class project: basic FSL and 3D FSL ornament (this class will require purchase of an ITH design)
Week 4: Projects made totally in the hoop
focus will be on resources available for ITH (in the hoop) projects, stabilizers and technique.
class project: zippered coin purse - all construction will be done in the hoop (this class will require purchase of an ITH design)

Requirements: | Embroidery machine with embroidery arm and hoops. Other supplies needed: - embroidery threads - bobbins - applique or embroidery scissors - embroidery needles for machine Stabilizers are included in workshop. |
