Youth Learn To Sew Series - Level 3
This is a kid-friendly, gender-neutral program that provides the necessary foundation in basic sewing skills and equipment usage. The program is designed to keep the participants engaged through a series of fun & easy-to-complete projects.
This is the 3rd level consisting of four classes.
Sewing machines and all project materials included! Students will have the opportunity to pick out their fabric for the various projects:
Class 1: Make a lined tote bag!
Class 2: Learn to make a drawstring backpack
Class 2: Learn to make a drawstring backpack
Class 3: Sewing curves and making straps while constructing a lined Apron
Class 4: Make a zippered pouch
Class 4: Make a zippered pouch
The course is offered for ages 7 through 13 and is limited to 4 participants. Please note that 15 minutes is scheduled at the start and finish of each class for settling in (hanging up coats, chatting, checking out the shop, visiting with Maggie the staff dog) and workspace prep/clean-up!
If the participant has a sewing machine please bring it to become familiar with it - make sure the machine has been recently serviced and in good working order; otherwise, sewing machines are supplied.
All workshop participants are required to sign a waiver prior to the workshop. The entire waiver can be viewed at the bottom of our classes page. (East Coast Quilt Co. Workshop Waiver)

A sewing kit will be required, consisting of:
- thread snips/scissors
- seam ripper
- straight pins
- Fabric marker & chalk
- sewing gauge
- 1 spool of thread in a neutral colour
Most of these items are available in our shop & students will receive a 15% discount on all purchases related to their class. If you'd like to make this process even easier, click the CLASS + MATERIALS Option and we will have a kit prepared for them!

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY:
If you cannot attend a class and it is 7 or more days before class, you will receive a store credit for 75% of the value of the class with a 30-day expiry date. If you cancel less than 7 days before class, you will NOT receive a refund or store credit. No credit or refund will be given for a "no show" in class regardless of reason. So please ensure that you are able to attend before signing up. East Coast Quilt Co reserves the right to cancel classes/events for any reason. If this happens, you will be refunded your full class fee.

| Instructor Bio: | Meet Nicole, our newest quilting enthusiast! With over 20 years of quilting experience. Nicole brings creativity and experience to our team. Specializing in appliqué she has a lifelong passion for other various forms of art such as clothes making, cross-stitch, embroidery, plastic canvas work, painting, and cake decorating. Outside of crafting, Nicole has spent 14 years working with children through Scouting both provincially and nationally. Nicole finds great joy in quilting for Quilts of Valour. |
