Learn to Quilt - Level 2 - Colour and Design

A comprehensive course that will walk you through every step of quilting while constructing a throw-size quilt, approximately 45in x 60in.
Over the 6 weeks, you will:

  • be guided in your fabric selection & learn about colour theory
  • become familiar with using rulers & rotary cutters
  • measure, cut & piece your fabrics
  • sandwich your layers & quilt them together
  • learn how to bind your quilt, resulting in a finished project!
Basic machine sewing skills are needed ie can you sew in a straight line!!?? ????

If you have a sewing machine please bring it with 1/4-inch sewing foot, a walking foot & extra bobbins. Contact us if you do not have a machine as we have several available to use for the duration of the course.

As well a basic sewing kit is needed: rotary cutter, small snipping scissors, straight pins, safety pins, seam ripper, 50 wt cotton thread, notebook & pen/pencil.

Construction of the 45-inch x 60-inch throw quilt requires 12 fat quarters to piece the front & additional fabric for backing & binding. As well you will need batting. Enjoy a 15% discount on all materials & supplies purchased during the duration of your course.

This class is suited for adults (age 15+)

All workshop participants are required to sign a waiver prior to the workshop. The entire waiver can be viewed at the bottom of our classes page. (East Coast Quilt Co. Workshop Waiver)
