Double Studded Star Quilt - Weekend Warrior Mini Retreat

Join Colleen for a fun weekend and put together this fun quilt project. It would make a wonderful holiday gift for someone special! Lunch provided for both days.

We’ll make this gorgeous Double Studded Star Quilt from Missouri Quilt Co. Block Magazine using 5” squares. While it looks difficult, it’s made entirely of squares and rectangles.

This class will teach the 53” x 53” size from the magazine, which will make a great cuddle quilt or wall hanging.  We’ll also talk about options to go bigger either by adding borders or making more blocks.  See below for options on adding blocks.

Requirements:

2 packages 5” print squares
2 metres background fabric
Missouri Star Block Magazine, Vol. 8, Issue 1 (provided)
Sewing machine, threads; general sewing kit, ruler(s) 
*15” x 15” ruler would be an asset

Make it bigger:

*Note: I have taken a very conservative approach to estimating the background based on my experience making the class sample.

**Can do this with two packages if we add a few 2.5” squares in a coordinating print(s).

 
This class is suited for adults (age 15+)

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY:
If you cannot attend a class and it is 7 or more days before class, you will receive a store credit for 75% of the value of the class with a 30-day expiry date. If you cancel less than 7 days before class, you will NOT receive a refund or store credit. No credit or refund will be given for a "no show" in class regardless of reason. So please ensure that you are able to attend before signing up. East Coast Quilt Co reserves the right to cancel classes/events for any reason. If this happens, you will be refunded your full class fee.

WHAT IS IN A BASIC SEWING KIT: 
For most of our classes we ask you to bring a 'basic sewing kit' which usually contains: rotary cutter and/or scissors, small snipping scissors, straight pins & a pin cushion or collector, seam ripper, a spool of neutral 50 wt cotton thread, extra bobbins, notebook & pen/pencil, ruler(s), etc.).
