Needle Lace Moon & Stars - Embroidery Workshop

This one day intensive workshop will teach technique, stitches, colour combinations, and mounting your work. After choosing your threads and fabric, Jess will help you set up your templates and then you’ll get down to business and begin stitching! In this workshop you will learn how to transfer an image to cloth and explore fabric applique using interfacing or heat n bond. You will learn how to finish off your piece making it suitable for framing

**Students should be able to finish this in class but if not, they will be given written instruction to take home***

Students will need:

● 0.25m of heat n bond - ultra hold
● Fabric for moon: approx 10” x 10”
● For Stars: Embroidery Thread for stitching - I suggest 3 colours that go well together (can be floss or perle cotton)
● Embroidery needles - a variety of sized 3 to 9 is fine
● Long hand-sewing needles (kogin, sashiko, or doll needles are recommended)
● Embroidery Hoop - I recommend the 7” morgan hoop
● For Base Cloth: Fat Quarter of 100% cotton, either Stitchers Linen, Kona Solid, or muslin (weavers cloth is not recommended as the weave structure is too tight).
● Marking Tool - water erasable or heat erasable
● Fabric Scissors - Sharp!
● Embroidery Snips
● Optional - needle threader, thread wax, wonder clips

This workshop is suited for adults (age 15+)
