Hidden Agenda - Quilt As You Go!

Hidden Agenda is the perfect quilt for that very special fabric you have been collecting. With a variety of fussy cut squares, the pattern accommodates practically any fabric that you throw at it. There are large blocks for the pieces that you just cannot bare to cut into, and there are smaller blocks that let you feature moments of scenic fabrics.  Hidden Agenda is perfect for panels as well and sews up beautifully in both print and solid fabrics! There are no limitations, only your creativity! This workshop will also focus on learning the "Quilt as you go" method of quilting!

Lori will walk you through the pattern and guide you in creating this one-of-a-kind quilt that highlights your most special fabrics. In this workshop, you will learn fussy cutting, colour balancing, cutting, piecing, and QAYG (quilt-as-you-go) techniques!

This workshop runs over 4 Saturday sessions and includes the cost of the Hidden Agenda Quilt Pattern by Angela Pingel. 

SYLLABUS:
Sept 13th: 10 am to 4 pm - Introduction to project, fabric selections, cutting, assembly
Sept 20th: 10 am to 4 pm - Assembly
October 18th: 10 am to 1 pm - Assembly & Check-in
November 22nd: 10 am to 4 pm - Finishing

MATERIALS REQUIRED:

An assortment of fabrics totaling the following:

• ½ yard low volume

• 1 1/4 yards light value

• 1 yard medium value

• ½ yard dark value

• 1/4 yard bright value

A variety of large-scale prints for the fussy cut squares

• ½ yard binding fabric

• 4 ½ yards backing fabric

• 2 yards 90″ wide batting

This class is suited for adults (age 15+)

WORKSHOP CANCELLATION POLICY:
If you cannot attend a workshop (either one-day, or a multi-day series) and it is 14 or more days before the start date, you will receive a store credit for 75% of the value of the workshop. If you cancel less than 14 days before the start of the workshop, you will NOT receive a refund or store credit. No credit or refund will be given for a "no-show" in the workshop regardless of the reason. So please ensure that you can attend before signing up.  EAST COAST QUILT Co reserves the right to cancel workshops/events for any reason. If this happens, you will be refunded your full workshop fee.

WHAT IS IN A BASIC SEWING KIT: 

For most of our workshops we ask you to bring a 'basic sewing kit' which usually contains: rotary cutter and/or scissors, small snipping scissors, straight pins & a pin cushion or collector, seam ripper, a spool of neutral 50 wt cotton thread, extra bobbins, notebook & pen/pencil, ruler(s), etc.).

PLEASE ENSURE YOUR SEWING MACHINE IS IN GOOD WORKING ORDER, and that you know how to thread and wind a bobbin. Instructors may not be familiar with all makes and models and troubleshooting machines can hinder instructional time. RENTAL MACHINES ARE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.
