Introduction to English Paper Piecing (EPP)

English paper piecing (EPP) involves stabilizing fabric pieces with paper before sewing them into intricate designs. It is most effective for shapes that do not have long straight sides and will require numerous set-in corners, such as hexagons. Because EPP is done by hand, it makes a terrific on-the-go project!
In the workshop, you will learn how to baste your shapes to paper and what techniques and tools to stitch your shapes together! You will start a small hexagon piece in this class.
Fabric & paper pieces included. Folks will need to bring sewing needles, sharp snips, and a spool of thread (60wt - 80wt recommended).
This class is suited for adults (age 15+)
All workshop participants are required to sign a waiver before the workshop. The entire waiver can be viewed at the bottom of our classes page. (East Coast Quilt Co. Workshop Waiver)
