Learn to Stitch Level 2 - Modern Landscape

In this 6-week series, Jessica will show you how to take your foundational stitches while designing a unique piece of textile art. The end result is a one-of-a-kind landscape sampler! Students will be guided through designing their landscape piece, and then work on a section of their project in a specific set of stitches each week.

(student work: Andree Mcgrath-Pratt)

Stitching is a slow and thoughtful process that yields beautiful results with patience and care. Students will work on the project in class and take it home to finish and tie in any loose ends before returning to class the next week. This is a great series to learn the art of stitching, meet others in the craft community, and learn in a supportive environment.

Projected Syllabus:

Week 1: Students will be walked through designing their landscape embroidery. Students will spend time picking out their fabric, thread colour, and stitches for their design.
After that, the design will be transferred to cloth and you'll get to stitching!

Week 2 - 5: Stitching!

Week 6: Finishing and framing (optional). Students will be shown how to finish off their work to be mounted into a frame.

*Materials and supplies NOT included; must be purchased separately*
