Create a “stitch book” using your embroidered, quilted, or handcrafted pieces! In this 2 part series, instructor Jess McDonald will walk you through how to prep your handmade pieces and assemble them into a beautiful book with a cover and closure. This workshop is open to anyone who wishes to document their work in a way where it can be held, touched, and shared with others! This book is completely hand-stitched, however, students will be given suggestions for machine finishing as well.
Students must have a minimum of four pieces to add to their book. Blank pages are welcomed if folks have fewer than four. Pieces must be no bigger than 8” x 10” in size. Students can choose between a square or rectangle-shaped book.
Session #1: Prep In the first class, students will be introduced to the project and walked through how to prepare their works for a book assembly. Students will choose between raw or blanket edge finishing and start the assembly process. Students will be required to do some prep homework before the next session.
Session #2: Cover & Closure Once all pages are prepped, students will be shown how to create and attach a cover, with optional closure, to their book!
This class is suited for adults (age 15+)
All workshop participants are required to sign a waiver prior to the workshop. The entire waiver can be viewed at the bottom of our classes page. (East Coast Quilt Co. Workshop Waiver)
