Quilted Jacket Retreat with Textile Artist Gabbie Kelly

East Coast Quilt co is excited to welcome Atlantic Canadian Artist, Gabbie Kelly, to join us for an exclusive Quilted Jacket Workshop! In this 3 day retreat, join Gabbie as she walks you through the essential steps to create your very own, customizable, handmade quilted garment!

The pattern is not included in the cost of the workshop. Students will pick between the Tamarack pattern by Grainline or the Hovea by Meghan Nielson. Participants receive 15% off their pattern choice!

Lunch is provided on Monday & Wednesday, courtesy of Manna Bakery. Lunch forms will be emailed to participants before the beginning of the workshop.

Instructor: Gabbie Kelly
Instructor Bio: I was always inspired by my Nanny's prolific quilting when I visited her in Northern Bay, NL and grew up with many of her traditional quilts decorating our home in Goose Bay, NL. In 2017, I took a beginner quilting class at Patch Halifax that started me on my own quilting journey. I felt a connection to the craft and soon saw an opportunity that could combine tradition with modern design. I teach classes in introductory quilting, applique and more intermediate quilting at my local fabric shop, Patch Halifax. Im so excited to teach at East Coast Quilt co. this year! I love finding new ways to reuse vintage or thrifted fabrics, making quilted garments and designing new patterns. My patterns are available at East Coast Quilt co and on my website gabbiemakes.com. I share my works in progress, and finished quilts (and some mistakes) on my Instagram page @gabbiemakes.
