Intro to Wool Applique - Wee Village Town Pillow by Wendy Williams
What a charming village!!
In this 2 session series, participants will create a two-toned background out of cotton, and then using wool felt and perle cotton, they will stitch a "Wee Village" onto that background! Besides the background, everything is done by hand using simple stitching.
This project can be used to make any size pillow form or a wall hanging, however, the pattern is for a finished size of 20in x 20in. Pattern and some materials included.
SUPPLIES REQUIRED:
Cotton
- 20.5in x 20.5in square in cotton for the back
- 2 pieces - 20.5in x 11.25in for front. Our sample uses light grey for the sky and dark grey for the ground.
Please note: These are measurements for a 20-inch pillow. If doing a different size, we will need to adapt the yardage. Please discuss this with your instructor on the day of class.
Fusible batting cut to the size of your project
Wool felt in the following sizes and colours:
- 5in x 5in squares in a variety of colours including white x 8
- 10in square in two different greens (1 is included in the cost of the workshop)
- 10in square in dark brown (included in the cost of the workshop)
Size 8 Perle Cotton in a variety of colours
Optional - Pillow Form & 18inch Zipper
Long Pillow Option:

WORKSHOP CANCELLATION POLICY:
If you cannot attend a workshop (either one-day or a multi-day series) and it is 7 or more days before the start date, you will receive a store credit for 75% of the value of the workshop with a 30-day expiry date. If you cancel less than 7 days before the start of the workshop, you will NOT receive a refund or store credit. No credit or refund will be given for a "no-show" in the workshop regardless of the reason. So please ensure that you can attend before signing up. EAST COAST QUILT Co reserves the right to cancel workshops/events for any reason. If this happens, you will be refunded your full workshop fee.
WHAT IS IN A BASIC SEWING KIT:
For most of our workshops we ask you to bring a 'basic sewing kit' which usually contains: a rotary cutter and/or scissors, small snipping scissors, straight pins & a pin cushion or collector, a seam ripper, a spool of neutral 50 wt cotton thread, extra bobbins, notebook & pen/pencil, ruler(s), etc.).
