Learn to Stitch Level 1 - The Ultimate Sampler
Welcome to the world of stitching! In this 6-week series, Jessica will teach you the foundational stitches in embroidery to create a comprehensive sampler! Students will be guided through fabric & thread colour choices, and then work on a section of their sampler in a specific set of stitches each week. This sampler gives students the opportunity to explore colour combination and as well as learning a variety of stitches!
Each student will receive a fat quarter of KONA cotton in natural with the design already transferred on plus printouts with additional instructions. The finished stitching area is approximately 8.5in x 11in. Students will need a Hand Embroidery reference book for this class. We highly recommend The Geometry of Hand Sewing by Natalie Chanin
Stitching is a slow and thoughtful process that yields beautiful results with patience and care. Students will work on the project in class and take it home to finish and tie in any loose ends before returning to class the next week. This is a great series to learn the art of stitching, meet others in the craft community, and learn in a supportive environment.
*Supplies NOT included; must be purchased separately*
