Quilted Sneakers Workshop - Weekend Retreat
Create your own quilted sneakers!
This 2-day workshop will go from start to finish on building your very own pair of unique quilted shoes! Through these two sessions, students will use various techniques, including quilting, bias binding, awls & eyelets, and hand stitching with a leather needle.

SYLLABUS:
1st Session - Fabric Prep
- Choose fabrics
- Make bias binding
- Sandwich & quilt fabric
- Cut out pattern
- Punch holes & install eyelets
2nd Session - Assembly
- Stitch fabric pieces to soles & finish!
SUPPLIES
- SneakerKit (includes soles, waxed thread, eyelets, and leather needle) - provided
- Classic 3-in-1 SneakerKit printed pattern - provided
- Shoelaces
- Quilting thread
- 20in - 25in square of feature fabric AND lining fabric (100% cotton recommended)
- 20in - 25in square of batting (thin loft recommended, non-fusible)
- Awl
- Thimble
- Sewing Machine (recommended accessories: walking foot & extension table)
- Basic Sewing Kit (see below)
WHAT IS IN A BASIC SEWING KIT:
For most of our workshops we ask you to bring a 'basic sewing kit' which usually contains: a rotary cutter and/or scissors, small snipping scissors, straight pins & a pin cushion or collector, a seam ripper, a spool of neutral 50 wt cotton thread, extra bobbins, notebook & pen/pencil, ruler(s), etc.).
This class is suited for adults (age 15+)
All workshop participants are required to sign a waiver before the workshop. The entire waiver can be viewed at the bottom of our classes page. (East Coast Quilt Co. Workshop Waiver)
WORKSHOP CANCELLATION POLICY:
If you cannot attend a workshop (either one-day or a multi-day series) and it is 7 or more days before the start date, you will receive a store credit for 75% of the value of the workshop with a 30-day expiry date. If you cancel less than 7 days before the start of the workshop, you will NOT receive a refund or store credit. No credit or refund will be given for a "no-show" in the workshop regardless of the reason. So please ensure that you can attend before signing up. EAST COAST QUILT Co reserves the right to cancel workshops/events regardless of the reason. If this happens, you will be refunded your full workshop fee.
