QJW Quilted Jacket Workshop
EAST COAST QUILT co is excited to have Sharon Williams join our team, to guide you through the Quilted Jacket workshop. Her finished coat is a mash-up of two patterns to create one of the nicest quilted jackets we have seen! This lined jacket can be made in two lengths, with or without toggle closures. And it has a hood and pockets. YAH!
The jacket is based on the 'Living Room' quilt pattern from SEWN by Amy Schelle; you 'build' your fabric based on the pattern and then cut out the jacket, using the NEWLOOK pattern 6585.
This workshop is 3 half-day sessions with ample time between to work on your homework!
The NEWLOOK pattern is included in the cost of the workshop; students are required to purchase the PDF 'Living Room' pattern. It is also suggested you have the 60 Degree Easy Equals ruler, which can be purchased at a 15% discount.
Quilt Jacket Itinerary:
Session 1: Monday, March 10 @ 1pm to 3:30pm
Session 2: Monday, March 24 @ 1pm to 3:30pm
Session 3: Monday, April 7 @ 1pm to 3:30pm
Supplies needed:
- 4.6m of background fabric (based on the longer version of the jacket) - this should be non-directional!

Supplies needed:
- 4.6m of background fabric (based on the longer version of the jacket) - this should be non-directional!
- 1m of accent fabric
- 4.6m of lining fabric... all your fabric can all be 115cm wide quilting cottons
- approximately 3m of batting
- PDF version of the 'Living Room' quilt pattern
- paper copy of NEWLOOK 6585 (included in your workshop fee)
- 60 Degree Equilateral Triangle ruler (available at ECQco at a 15% discount)
- hera marker
- matching threads
- rotary cutter & quilting ruler
- scissors (Paper & Fabric)
- Optional: toggles for closures. Can be discussed with the class instructor.
WORKSHOP CANCELLATION POLICY:
If you cannot attend a workshop (either one-day, or a multi-day series) and it is 14 or more days before the start date, you will receive a store credit for 75% of the value of the workshop. If you cancel less than 14 days before the start of the workshop, you will NOT receive a refund or store credit. No credit or refund will be given for a "no-show" in the workshop regardless of the reason. So please ensure that you can attend before signing up. EAST COAST QUILT Co reserves the right to cancel workshops/events for any reason. If this happens, you will be refunded your full workshop fee.
WHAT IS IN A BASIC SEWING KIT:
For most of our workshops we ask you to bring a 'basic sewing kit' which usually contains: rotary cutter and/or scissors, small snipping scissors, straight pins & a pin cushion or collector, seam ripper, a spool of neutral 50 wt cotton thread, extra bobbins, notebook & pen/pencil, ruler(s), etc).
