Clasp Weft Weaving - 1 Day Workshop!



Discover the art of weaving and create your textured fabric! In this hands-on workshop, you'll explore the fundamentals of table loom weaving, mastering both a basic weave structure and a clasp weft technique for creating intertwined patterns! Looms will be pre-warped and all weaving materials included! No experience necessary! Join us for this fiber-friendly afternoon!



Learn how to operate the Ashford Table loom, experiment with diverse weaving methods, and finish your project with a secure edge. You'll craft a personalized piece of handwoven cloth, using pre-warped looms and cotton yarn. Select either a natural or black base for your weaving when signing up! Beginners, as well as those with weaving experience, are welcome.

Please note that these table looms require participants to stand for the majority of the workshop. If you have any concerns about this, please ask how we can accommodate you. Looms are provided for workshop use ONLY.

The class size is limited to four people per workshop to ensure students receive as much guidance as possible. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and for those with weaving experience!


This workshop is suited for adults (age 15+). Class participants receive a 15% discount on purchases for the duration of your workshop.

WORKSHOP CANCELLATION POLICY:
If you cannot attend a workshop (either one-day, or a multi-day series) and it is 14 or more days before the start date, you will receive a store credit for 75% of the value of the workshop. If you cancel less than 14 days before the start of the workshop, you will NOT receive a refund or store credit. No credit or refund will be given for a "no-show" in the workshop regardless of the reason. So please ensure that you can attend before signing up.  EAST COAST QUILT Co reserves the right to cancel workshops/events for any reason. If this happens, you will be refunded your full workshop fee.

Instructor: Jessica McDonald
Instructor Bio: Jess McDonald (BFA 2019) is a textile artist based here in St. John's, Newfoundland and is the provincial representative for the Guild of Canadian Weavers. As a lover of all things textiles, Jessica brings traditional crafts to light through exploration and teaching. For over 10 years she has been teaching private and public workshops in sewing, stitching, and weaving. Jess is passionate about creating community through making and sharing her knowledge of craft with others.
