Flocks By Night - Wool Applique Wall Hanging Quilt
Flocks by Night is a festive wool felt appliqué and patchwork pattern by designer Wendy Williams [Flying Fish Kits]. Featuring a pieced night sky with wonky stars, whimsical wool houses, embroidered trees, and - as suggested by the title - lots of sheep!
This is a very striking piece which can be used as a winter/Christmas wall hanging or table runner.
Make this unique piece with instructor Sharon Griffin over the course of 5 morning sessions!
Workshop Syllabus:
Class 1: Making the 8 colourful stars with white/cream backgrounds.
Class 2: Focus will be on the top and side borders of the 9 bright wonky stars with dark blue/purple backgrounds.
Class 3: Combining the border stars with the background.
Class 4 & 5: Hand quilting the various shapes onto the background as well as ideas for quilting the entire piece.
The background is done in cottons while the decorative foreground is hand stitched using wool and perle cotton.
The finished piece is 25 x 53 inches.
Pattern is included in workshop fee, and is required for this class (no sharing or photocopies to protest copyright). If you already own this pattern, please reach out to be reimbursed for the pattern cost. Freezer paper is also included.

This class is suited for adults (age 15+)

WORKSHOP CANCELLATION POLICY:
If you cannot attend a workshop (either one-day, or a multi-day series) and it is 14 or more days before the start date, you will receive a store credit for 75% of the value of the workshop. If you cancel less than 14 days before the start of the workshop, you will NOT receive a refund or store credit. No credit or refund will be given for a "no-show" in the workshop regardless of the reason. So please ensure that you can attend before signing up. EAST COAST QUILT Co reserves the right to cancel workshops/events for any reason. If this happens, you will be refunded your full workshop fee.
WHAT IS IN A BASIC SEWING KIT:
For most of our workshops we ask you to bring a 'basic sewing kit' which usually contains: a rotary cutter and/or scissors, small snipping scissors, straight pins & a pin cushion or collector, a seam ripper, a spool of neutral 50 wt cotton thread, extra bobbins, notebook & pen/pencil, ruler(s), etc.)

Scented products can trigger serious health reactions in folks with asthma, migraines, allergies or chemical sensitivities. Please help us maintain a healthy environment for everyone by not wearing scented products.
