Policies and FAQs: 

For every dollar spent in store or online, before taxes, you earn a point! After 300 points you are issued a $20 coupon on your account. Coupons never expire! You can redeem 1 (one) coupon per transaction. We reserve the right to limit the number of coupons earned on a single item. Purchases $6000 and over earn a maximum of 20 loyalty coupons ($400).


We are dealers for both Bernina Canada & Brother Canada. Every machine sale at East Coast Quilt co comes with a FREE machine orientation lesson! 


It will take us 1-3 days to get your order out the door! 

Ah, a necessary evil!  We do not attempt to make money with our shipping charges & in fact are held hostage by our carrier which is CANADA POST.  Shipping is a magic combination of weight and dimension and the cost of it, especially from Newfoundland, can be gobsmacking!  We will ship the cheapest way possible in an effort to make it a win/win situation; so if we can slide it into an envelope & ship it as lettermail we will.
However, most parcels go by Expedited Post with a tracking number.  Once it goes into CP's hands it is all up to them so if it is running late you just have to sit tight.  And if it goes astray, we'll get on them but again you just have to sit tight until we work it out.  That being said, in our dealing with CP over the last 20 years (in this business & previous ones) they have NEVER lost a parcel!  And that is pretty darn amazing!

PLEASE NOTE: There are several locations across Canada designated as 'remote areas' by Canada Post and, unfortunately, these locations do not qualify for our shipping rates as posted.  If we discover you are one of locations while we are processing your order, we will reach out to you prior to shipping with a revised shipping quote and work out a solution to get the goods to you.

If you cannot attend a class and it is 7 or more days before class, you will receive a store credit for 75% of the value of the class with a 30-day expiry date. If you cancel less than 7 days before class, you will NOT receive a refund or store credit. No credit or refund will be given for a "no show" in class regardless of reason. So please ensure that you are able to attend before signing up. East Coast Quilt Co reserves the right to cancel classes/events for any reason.  If this happens, you will be refunded your full class fee.

For most of our classes we ask you to bring a 'basic sewing kit' which usually contains: rotary cutter and/or scissors, small snipping scissors, straight pins & a pin cushion or collector, seam ripper, a spool of neutral 50 wt cotton thread, extra bobbins, notebook & pen/pencil, ruler(s), etc.).  

We do not offer refunds for books, patterns, scissors or blades.  No refunds on sale items, special orders, gift certificates, fabric cuts or items not in their original packaging. For everything else we will refund you up to 30 days after your purchase. The product must be in new condition, smoke-free, and contain no pet hair or other flaws. Once we receive and inspect your return, your refund will be issued.

If you received an item in error, OOPS.  Please contact us and we will send you a pre-paid envelope so you can return it to us easily. We'll ship you out the correct item & we pay for shipping on any mistakes we make.
PRE-ORDER ITEMS: If you change your mind and no longer want a pre-order items, please notify us right away. If your pre-order hasn't shipped yet, we will refund the full amount of your order. Refunds may take up to 10 business days to appear on your statement.

We reserve the right to cancel or refund any orders where pricing is incorrectly set on our website. We will notify you if this happens before proceeding. If a pricing error occurs, we will either refund you the difference (overcharge) or send you an invoice for the difference (undercharge).
